When you have a baby, people tell you hard it is. They tell you about the long nights, the crying, and so on. But too be honest, Chet was the most dreamy newborn. Everything was so easy with him and I will always be grateful for that!
Now that he has entered the toddler years, I look back and think, wow that was easy. This is the hard stuff! I mean, I really feel like I adjusted quite easily when he was born, but I was not at all prepared for life with a toddler. What people should tell you, is that the toddler life is hard.
But, as with all things in motherhood, you simply adjust. You learn, you grow, and you survive. One day at a time. You could say we are still figuring that out though 🙂
One thing that has really helped make the toddler transition easier for our family is Freshly Picked moccasins. We still haven’t figured out the perfect solution for those toddler tantrums (is there even a solution!?) but their moccasins sure have made the transition from crawling to walking easier. These are definitely one of my mom picks that I will always have with all my babies.
We have bought countless pairs of shoes for Chet and he has always kicked them off. I don’t event know how much money we have wasted on shoes for him, but at a certain point we just stopped putting shoes on him. This was fine before he was mobile, but once he started crawling and walking we knew we needed to find some shoes that would work for him.
Then came along Freshly Picked moccs and it was like one of those hallelujah mom moments. When we bought our first pair, Chet was actually in the process of learning to walk and they made that process so much easier for him. He was able to grip the ground better and better yet, he couldn’t take them off his feet! Shortly after this, he took his first steps and I could easily tell that they helped him learn how to walk.
We definitely still have our hard toddler moments, don’t get me wrong. Tantrums, crying, good days, bad days. The usual. Just the other day, he threw a full on tantrum because he finished his sweet potato fries and he was sad they were gone. These are expected moments though, ones that just come along with motherhood 🙂
I’m grateful for Freshly Picked moccasins and what an essential they have become to our family. The toddler years sure are hard, but they are one baby item that can make life just a little easier. If you have a little one on the way or your baby is transitioning into a toddler, I cannot recommend these shoes enough!
Here are some of my wishlist moccs right now:
